It was in those early days when Ted met his good friend, Ron Dimond; the pair used to “go around everywhere” together.

“One thing we used to do in those early years was go tobogganing on the Parliament Hill Fields; it’s where Hampstead is, massive big downhills.” Ted said.

"We’d get an old packing case and put a couple of steel runners on each side, so when it snowed we’d have a great time.

“We’d nearly kill ourselves, but we had a great time! I was five or six.”
